Weird, did that about a week ago. It was mainly for video editing (Adobe Premiere/After Effects/etc.).Click16 wrote:Installed Windows 7 x64. Feels good getting a fresh install.

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
Haha that's part of the reason. I installed CS5 Master collection, and I was displeased by how many of their well-known products would not run on Xp x64. After effects and Premiere pro being 2 of the ones I really wanted. But now it all works.NotZachary82 wrote:Weird, did that about a week ago. I need 64bit Win7. I only got 32bit. Shouldn't of got OEM, true it was cheaper, but now it's going to cost me more.
But I will get 64bit Windows 8 Dev preview edition, for now.

That's kind of funny, I had to re-install Win7 64bit about a week ago too. I had a few folders on my desktop get corrupted so I just reinstalled the whole thing.

Got that clock finished.
The thing will tick normally for anywhere from 8 to 40 minutes.
Then it will gradually speed up to avoid being obvious and will continue to tick fast.
Then it will gradually slow down slower than normal speed to compensate for the extra time and after it's all over and it's back to normal ticking, it's right back on time.
Sometimes it will do the above backwards, slowing down first then speeding up to catch back up.

I got the parts for the chew toy's voice box.
Managed to create a shitty tilt switch out of aluminum foil, shrink tube, and steel BBs. It's shitty cause it doesn't always work right.

Every time Xzodia posts I realize his signature breaks forum rules, but I can't bring myself to delete either quote. I drank too many energy drinks yesterday and couldn't sleep at all last night so I got like 3-4 hours of crap light sleep. Now I have to go to work.

Just remove the quote part and make it into two lines.JacksonCougar wrote:Every time Xzodia posts I realize his signature breaks forum rules, but I can't bring myself to delete either quote.
I went bowling the other night with a few friends and I met this girl in the bar. We talked for about an hour, but then one of my friends had to leave because he drank too much and started puking

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
So I got bored about an hour ago and decided to install Ubuntu on a Virtual PC. I never really worked with linux before other then using a live puppy linux CD to browse the web at school.
Well, I now have a working minecraft server running under linux. I'm planning on setting up my PC to dual boot Win7 and Ubuntu, and also setting up a second PC to run my server on.

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
Last couple months I've been slacking off on everything; always drifting off from what I was supposed to do and taking such a long time to accomplish anything.
So I wanted to do a little test, I wanted to see if I could actually power through something until it was complete.
I did that with the chewtoy voice box yesterday. Got that shit assembled and programmed yesterday. Just need to find my drill bits to put holes in the lid.
Proved to myself that I can still get shit done in a timely manor, I just focus on it.

You can get a kit to do it yourself for $20 at radioshack.Click16 wrote:your ability to print / draw circuit boards is making me jealous, so jelly...

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
The ones radioshack sells requires you to literally draw the circuits.
It's cool and shit and lets you draw out tracks with nothing more than a shapie but it's not really suited for surface mount stuff unless you have a fine tip sharpie and a steady hand.
I used a photoresist-coated board with the circuit printed on transparency and exposed using my desk lamp. Shit comes out so nice.

That green shit is the unexposed photoresist that the developer doesn't remove (if careful).

Anything I can't get by with a project board, I would just have fabbed up.DemonicSandwich wrote:The ones radioshack sells requires you to literally draw the circuits.

I recommend Linux Mint a lot, it's an Ubuntu Derivative that I prefer over all of the Canonical Sponsored versions.xxpenguinxx wrote:So I got bored about an hour ago and decided to install Ubuntu on a Virtual PC. While a professionally fabbed board is preferable, the 1-2 week turnaround isn't.Grimdoomer wrote:Anything I can't get by with a project board, I would just have fabbed up.

I bought the battery case for the voice box off ebay. They were made of some brittle plastic.
I accidentally gave them a bad communication review rather than a bad item review.
They contacted me and gave me a refund which didn't require the items be returned.

Jelly. I would love to have speeds that high, or even half that.
Comcast has a monopoly in my area(only broadband ISP) so they have little reason to provide good service.....or service at all.
