Re: The Official Happiness Thread
The reach stuff is only for multiplayer, though I agree that it shouldn't even be in there....

The should let people forge in campaing! (once you finish it)
Okay that may be too much to ask, but it would be very cool.
But yeah reach stuff in HCE HD multiplayer is meh, but we'll see how they've tweaked the weapons.

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
What would be the point of making an exact remake?
Id just play the origanal.
Fuck I hope they change some shit, I have the Halo1 and Halo2 Disk right here collecting dust.
Im hoping for placement changes, as well as some geometry changes, I mean fuck if i wanted to play the same old shit with a new skin, id make it myself.
If it turns out to be a replica with better graphics, i wont even buy it.
The multiplayer is going online to fill the hole left by the old servers Halo1 and 2.
Not that anybody still played them on live anymore.
Happy happy joy joy

This game doesn't have any multiplayer, they're not tweaking anything other than visuals. These multiplayer maps are for Halo: Reach.neodos wrote:But yeah reach stuff in HCE HD multiplayer is meh, but we'll see how they've tweaked the weapons.

Yeah I'd prefer a HCE mp hd remake with the original stuff, but I guess they have to "support" reach anyways, cool to have 7 maps from HCE.

Thanx for clearing that up, i was wondering why the armor was so different in multiplayer, i was thinking they had armor add-ons for chief,
Which seems riduculous.
If chief ever gets another upgrade, im sure it will be from alien technology he stole from this new confrontation in Halo4.

Well there was a silencer added to smg near the end of the the video. (I think it was smg, it might have been the pistol).

Replaced old glitchy HDD by an SSD (Sold-state drive)
And holy shit!
Bios takes longer to boot then windows 7, total takes about 13 seconds to start, apps load instantaneously and "heavy" apps (aka Photoshop,3D apps) are now effin fast to load and so so so much faster/better to work with big files =)

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
Hehe, one frame for a 3D render takes now half the time it did on an HDD, it depends of course of what I am rendering, in this case there's many texture files so I guess the SSD helps loading the textures which saves half time 10min now 5min.
The big downside, I got a 64gb SSD for around 80$ so it is pretty small, for that price you could get a terabyte HDD, I have 20Gb left with all the applications I need to work installed, stuff like games or backups I keep em on old good HDD.
I have waited until there was an acceptable price and stability on the SSD, yet its still pretty expensive for the capacity, really only pick one if you have the money and have a use for the performance, otherwise Id say its not worth yet for the price.
But the gain in performance is considerable.

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
I have my SSD in my netbook, it's pretty fast but it was an older and cheaper intel model. What's nice is it adds even more time to the battery life which was already really good. The read is only like 140 and write is 40 or something(not great for an SSD, but read beats most hard drives). I'll definitely get another one down the road with better performance, but I'm probably gonna build a 1+0 RAID of just regular hard drives first.

The one I got is pretty recent, STATA II so it goes around 280mbps write 250mbps read, though don't have enough for a raid0 and its still tricky to setup on some pcs I heard, but it definetly boosts.

I have finally accomplished making a mold of every single part on a 360 controller. Plastics of course.

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
Yeah they had ones that were 240 read at the time, I just got it like a year ago for $100 on a shell shocker from newegg. I like it for what I'm using it for, but I don't really notice the speed increase in my netbook since it's a pretty weak system. I can be using it for about 8 hours, on one charge and it's a 6-cell battery too.neodos wrote:The one I got is pretty recent, STATA II so it goes around 280mbps write 250mbps read, though don't have enough for a raid0 and its still tricky to setup on some pcs I heard, but it definetly boosts.

Mounted this on my wall couple days ago:

And yes I was modding Halo 2 on it and also used it as a screen for my computer.
When I get my room redesigned (could take a while) ill return to modding again, however now I'm really slayed by work.

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
I qualified as a sparky (electrician to non English speakers) bang on time for the housing slump and economic crash. Finding a full time sparky job has been a bitch for months and months, so I've done all sorts to make ends meet, gardening, factory work, labouring (bloody American dictionaries it's colour & labour for Christ's sake) Along the way I've met a load of nice people who wanted some electrical work done tax+VAT free, So I do some at the weekend then I don't need to work gardening or in factories as much, so I tell the bosses I don't want 40 hours a week give me 16, and they say yes, now I have a official job which I can do blindfolded with my hand up my arse on Monday & Tuesday when I'm still a bit spazzed from the weekend, Wed-Friday, I'm doing what I love (playing with power tools and pissing off plumbers) I'm booked now till September

It's worth it, especially since most tv's that are of this size come with the capability of having "P.I.P. Picture in Picture". Also forgot to mention that while playing around with my tv the other night, I clicked scan channels... and it scanned full HD channels, wireless.Gary wrote:sabu wrote:Mounted this on my wall couple days ago:

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
Well, I'll have to see if this one has PIP, main reason for it, is that it's upgrading both my computer monitor and TV. But, I'm still keeping the old TV and monitor as I have a video card that has three outputs(2 DVI, 1 HDMI) so I'm gonna have two side monitors... I'm gonna have to redo my entire computer area just to fit this beast.sabu wrote: It's worth it, especially since most tv's that are of this size come with the capability of having "P.I.P. As for channels, I've never had any luck with getting broadcast TV without a big ass antenna attached to the side of the house... not like it matters to me, there is nothing ever on broadcast TV... satellite(DishNetwork) is far better

So my email magically came back on after 3 days. I decided to add a recovery question and/or alternate email, but although these are needed to recover your account, there is no option to set them up. I guess this is a Happy/Rant mix. Oh well, I think I'll start transferring my account elsewhere now...
