Reading on how to solve or on your own?

Done it many times, but I must admit I read a how to way back when...

I did try to read some online tutorials but none of them were easy to understand at all. All I gained from them was "solve by layer" and a few extra rotations to keep in mind. Yeah.

Bought a new 360 controller. It's an amazing the difference between the new controller and the only worn out one I've been using.
Nice to have a new, accurate, controller again. Feels good man.

OBJ format right now, but I do plan to support one or two more formats because obj is rather unsuited for storing node and animation information.

A while back I was looking for new formats and although I never got into the animation stuff (as of yet) I found .SMD & .DMX may be useful formats for such.

The code for loading FBX models is freely available and a c# version can be borrowed from xna

.XAF which is the format 3ds uses is literally cut and paste for most of the keyframe data.
One of the reasons I started learning C#.

I never had a problem with the Rubik's, I'd use my engineering brain and smash it, then rebuild it.
There are very few problems that can't be solved with lateral thinking and a hammer. :XD:

Just ordered another monitor last night. Can't wait for my dual monitor setup at home :)

I do need a GPU though, because I have onboard graphics and it only has dsub.

Here are a couple that I have been looking at. It doesn't need to be amazing, but I do want dual monitors capability, with the possibility of a big screen lcd down the road, lower heat and/or power are definitely something I'm looking for too, so if there are some others I should be looking at let me know.

$65 - EVGA 01G-P3-N959-TR GeForce 9500 GT 1GB

I think you're better off grabbing a Nvidia 9600GT, 9800GT or an 8800 series off Ebay for about $30-$50 if you want the best bang for your buck. Most come with duel DVI connectors that work with a DVI to VGA adapter. The only down side is you need a 6pin PCIe Power connector and preferably a separate 12V rail.

Now if you only plan on using 3dsmax and doing basic modeling and rendering, and some less hardware stressing games like Counter Strike Source, those cards you picked out will be fine, but I would shop around for a better deal.

I'm not really a gamer at all, I just need something that can handle 2 monitors and have a little headroom. I would definitely pay extra for the same performance with less heat and power usage, and I don't have a power supply with multiple 12v rails. Only game I might run would be halo or halo 2 most likely, and I think my onboard does that already.

I'd go with the GT 430 if all you are doing is upgrading your video card. It's a bit pricey for my taste but then again I often buy my stuff used. The only thing that concerns me is the minimum power requirement, but this depends more so on your other hardware.
Minimum 300W or greater system power supply (with a minimum 12V current rating of 22A)
Btw what are your system specs?

My processor is a 65 Watt dual core, only 1 HD, 1 DVD drive and 2 sticks of ram. I have a max continuous 430W power supply and it doesn't have that much draw on the system so I assume I should be good on just about any mid range video card, but after looking at the stats it might have 2 12v rails at 20A, so I don't know if that would work with the 430. Yeah the only thing I'm looking for is ability to power two monitors and enough power to run shitty games like halo to tinker around. Basically just want something powerful enough computation wise but low power electricity and heat wise.

You could use any PCIe graphics card as long as it doesn't use more then one PCe 6pin power connector.
