That actually is something I could see you doing. I assume you would have to write articles for weekly modding/programming updates, as well as hosting Mod of the Month, etc.
You've talked to Korn about it? He hasn't mentioned looking for positions.

Not really sure if that applies to what you want, according to recent posts, I wouldn't assume you don't get to be a Content Developer.

Besides, an administrator hovers over the "lesser beings", while a developer would probably actually do stuff.
