Re: The Official Rant Thread
So thursday night I go into the basement to feed my fish and I noticed the pump wasn't on, and the powerstrip wasn't lit up. Looked at the fuse box and noticed the breaker for downstairs was blown. Reset it and the dehumidifier comes on and the breaker clicks off. After checking everything I determined there is a short inside the dehumidifier, the unit has been running at least 12 hours a day for the last 13 years.
Anyway I went to the home depot today to pick up a new unit. The first one was an EG 65 pint, I bring home and open the box and I noticed there is a large crack in the plastic and one of the panels is sticking out. Brought it back to the store to get another one. Before getting that one I asked if I could open the box and the guy let me. That unit was also cracked inside of it but much worse. I then asked if they had a different brand that that made a 65 pint unit. The guy said yes but their store was sold out. I then went to another home depot and got that unit there. The box wasn't even scratched and I was a bit in a rush so I just brought it home not thinking. I take the unit out and get it set up. I was having trouble getting the drain hose to stay in place and I looked at the back panel and saw a huge dent on the soft plastic, causing it not to lock in.
At that point I just walked away from it and bitched a bit. I'm returning that unit tomorrow and will be contacting both store managers about the 3 busted units.

Re: The Official Rant Thread
To end my last rant I spent a little extra and just purchased a unit from an individual retailer. The new Dehumidifier works great and no more circuit blowing.
New rant:
At work I got back to my desk after lunch and I smell burnt plastic. I start sniffing around and pinpointed it to my backup PC (Which was being used as a primary because it has a faster CPU and graphics card, that's AGP...) and quickly shut it down. I still cannot get an upgraded PC though, I'm currently stuck with a Dell GX620 with a pentium 4 2.8GHz. There's about a hundred new GX990's with Core i3, i5 in the data center that have been untouched for over a year yet I cannot use one, WTF? Maybe I should just take one, I highly doubt they will notice.

Re: The Official Rant Thread
Noticed some surface rust on my quarter panels / rear wheel wells where they were repaired. Figured I would sand it down to the bare metal and stop it before it gets worse but it's far too late. The whole supposedly new panel is rusted through, no chance at saving it. Going to have to cut off the entire panel and replace it. I say supposedly because I can't imagine that much rust forming under the paint in less than a year on a new panel.
Guess I should just buy a welder and do it myself this time, and while I'm at it I should finally replace the roof skin.

Re: The Official Rant Thread
Seriously: making a movement gimbal should not be this much damned trouble. I seem to fix one thing just to break another. Had world-x-y-z working fine, but then went to change it to use arbitrary (but orthogonal) axis. That was a giant wrench in the works: had to re-think my projection plane generation. Fixed that (I think) and now it runs away from the mouse.
/rage

I can see what the problem is: I'm projecting a ray from the near z-plane to the far z-plane and intersecting a plane to resolve the final world-position; Buuut. I don't want the projection-matrix to affect the ray. No idea how to avoid that; so I need to look-up how projection works again.
Hmmm: I think I fix

Hmm, Well I can't wait to see what your making, but I'm not sure what the problem is. Maybe animated gifs would be nice, seeing as how I can't understand what you're saying based on the text. I might be retarded tho. Just an option...

Holy fuck I haven't been here in a long time.

What the hell makes the CoD game disks so different than others?
It's the only line if disks that either fail to read, or read and crash regardless if they're installed or not.

from past experience, I've CoD's game discs always had problems reading in my brother's Xbox (he has the Xbox 360 Elite) I eventually had to pot mod his disc drive, now all of his Cod games play fine.DemonicSandwich wrote:Holy fuck I haven't been here in a long time.

That "Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" is bullshit. First girl broke my heart like a bitch. Made it impossible to live without someone.
Second girl broke up with me because she was super religious and I'm atheist. Sad, since it was a great relationship. I don't really hold either of us at fault in that one. But it only made it even harder to live without someone.

Wierd: my last girlfriend made me like living on my own. People need space to grow and find themselves I believe: being tied to your SO all the time imo is unhealthy..

It probably is unhealthy. I haven't seem to be able to change it for nearly a year now though. :/JacksonCougar wrote:People need space to grow and find themselves I believe: being tied to your SO all the time imo is unhealthy..
And this seems to vary a good amount from person to person. I know those who do just fine single and with someone. And people like me where they get dependent.

Got my wisdom teeth out quite a while ago. I know people who had brutal experiences recovering from their removal but my experience was generally flawless. Just couldn't form a sentence for hours lol. I was nuuuummbb

Same here. Didn't even need any of those drugs they gave me. All four of them removed too. I even washed out my mouth like 15 minutes after the removal and found out right afterwards they apparently warn against doing so.NotZachary82 wrote:Got my wisdom teeth out quite a while ago. Re: The Official Rant Thread
First day was alright since I was still under the effects of the general anesthesia, the next three days I was pretty miserable even with painkillers, I had to get em all removed in a rush since a cyst formed under a crown molar teeth from the wisdom teeth pushing, so I got 5 removed at once.
Seems to have healed nicely, except for the molar where I had the cyst the gum is still in a pretty rough state but it should be fine, I can finally eat solid food, got bored of soups and ice cream, good thing its only once in a lifetime

Re: The Official Rant Thread
After I had mine removed the physical recovery was quite easy. Didn't have any pain, just a slight stiff jaw few weeks and I had to chew carefully. I didn't want to be knocked out so I told them just to numb me, not sure if that was a good idea or not because I hate needles. The worst part was the surgeon was rushing at the end because he thought I was having a panic attack, but he was causing it by rushing and making the needle move all around in my mouth >_>. I swear there are still bumps where they injected the novacaine. I still get that sick feeling in my stomach when driving near that area. At least I'll never be going back there again.
I do miss being able to chew food with that small section of gum that was covering my wisdom teeth.
OK Chrome WTF!? Why is my address bar font x2 in size and taking up half my screen?
