Re-installed my DuoX2 Modchip that I had laying around for a while. Took forever for me to manage to find D0,than I realized that it was on the bottom of the motherboard.

I finished replacing my car's faulty ABS with a non ABS brake system. The brakes never felt so good.

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
From an automotive technicain's perspective there are times when ABS isn't as good, but few and far between. I guess if you had four brake pedals and you could hit them in needed order 10 times a seconds or so, you could probably do almost as good of a job at stopping your car.
I agree that in situations where having your tires locked would create a barrier in front of your wheel (snow, soft dirt) ABS may not be as effective, but ice, rain, etc it wins hands down.
Bleeding ABS on the other hand can be a real bitch at times (so I've heard).

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
I completely get the reasoning behind ABS, and it's effects on stopping, I just don't like how it feels, and since mine wasn't working right to begin with, swapping it with a non abs setup was the efficient way to go. I could of sourced out another ABS pump but to find one cheap in working order is taking a huge gamble.
It all cost me about $130 for all the parts, the new master cylinder being the most expensive at $50. I grabbed the lines and brake booster from the junkyard out of a civic for $30 and I bought a flare nut wrench set for $40. New performance brake fluid (530F boiling point or something) was under $10.
Bleeding an APB system is quite a bitch to do if you never did it before. I had to bleed it when I changed my left rear caliper about a year ago, not fun. The non ABS setup took me and my friend a quarter of the time to bleed.
Other thought:
I went to the movies with a very close friend. While talking to her I look out the window and I see the back of my car and think, "Wow, there's my dream car, and my dream girl."
I'm going with her to see System of a Down on August 2nd. I might goto Vans Warped Tour on the 20th but I'm not sure yet.
Yesterday I went fishing at point pleasant. I caught about a dozen fluke, but none of them were keepers, they still put up a good fight.

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
System starts acting up last week.
-Hangs on boot-up splash screen for couple minutes every time.
-Cooling fan always at idles speeds. CPU always at amazingly high temps. (85*C+)
-When under load (CPU >60%) system overheats and does hard shutdown. (not hibernation or normal shutdown, just "Off")
-Disassemble laptop, remove tach wire from cooling fan's connector and insulate it.
-Now throws fan error at startup screen but skipable.
-Fan now runs at max all the time, laptop not even mildly warm. Noisier but much cooler.
-CPU barely touches 62C at 100% load. Splash screen is quickly skipped because of the fan error and boots up faster.
Literally removing a single wire fixed several issues.

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
I cracked my laptop's lcd, opened up to find the model of it to replace, and I broke the ribbon connecting my power button to the MB by damaging the circuit board. Moved some wires, worked again. In order to avoid further issue, pressed down with a screwdriver (cpu on), and then my computer shut off. Shortcircuited my motherboard. $440 to fixDemonicSandwich wrote:System starts acting up last week.

Going to just assume it's better shielding on the wires to reduce jitter on the signal.

Glad to hear you're back on your feet. I would love to see you back in action at modding. I'm preparing a comeback myself but have been delayed by reality issues. Re: The Official Happiness Thread
So, the word on the street is that there are going to be some comebacks in the H2 realm!? Good to hear! I'll be the first one to play those mods when they are released!
Unity3d? I googled that and it came up as a game development tool. What are your thoughts on it dark?
EDIT: I am astonished at how much of a computer nerd I really am. I want to do other things with my life, but when I see some cool shizz online, I feel like an excited kid with a new toy. Damn, it feels good to want to create things. Gooooooot toooooo reeeeeeeeesiiiiiiiiiist!!!!

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
Unity3d is awesome, I made Tick Tock Toys with it.
It might be possible to make a plugin to export collision boxes, thus allowing it to be used to make halo 2 maps...

I'm not sure what your exact situation is, but for me it seems like whenever I'm dating one girl, there's always a few others trying to date me, and then when I'm single, I can't find one that's interested.
I got a new radio for my car the other day. It has USB and Ipod support, plus an audio in jack on the front so anyone who's in my can play their music. It supports FAT32 file system so it should support up to 2TB, if I ever get something portable of that size. It also has front and rear RCA outputs. I'm planning on using the rear for a subwoofer, and I might get component speakers for the front.

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
So I have this IBM Model M13 Mechanical keyboard laying around. I plugged it in and it works including the built in track point mouse. I never used a mechanical keyboard before, but after using this one for a few hours, I'm never going back to a regular one. I'm going to try to find another Model M, or at least replacement keys for this one, because I know I'll wear out the lettering on the WASD keys.
