This looks suspiciously like a virus that is going to take over my life. Can you affirm that this isn't a virus? :D No offense! I just want to play the game.

I went through my games and found i have a bunch of 360 games that I will never play again and with Gamestop's 30%+(40%+ with card) the games I can turn in will actually cover the rest of MW3 and AC:Revelations, effectively getting them for free.

I just wish there were other game stores around to rival Gamestop's tradein values, at least then they wouldn't be as thieving.
(24$ for a game 5 days after release is bullshit)

Might get Forza 4 as well.

The preview that subcaptioned "Real in-game footage" inspired me to try the demo last night. Pretty amazing graphics I must say. Haven't played a racing game in a while and I quite enjoyed the feel of it.

:hmm: The wording in my post seems either gay or british... (no offence BumLove, you're English, not British :wink: )

My 360 wireless adaptor arrived yesterday and is a significant benefit over using the laptop but will sometimes randomly disconnect though significantly less often than the laptop does.

Paid off the rest of MW3 and some of AC:Revelations, and got Forza 4.
I like it so far though it's essentially Forza3 with a new title plus a few additions that could have been added as a title update...a really big title update.
I think one of the reasons I like it is because when I got into video games (on Sony consoles), the main genre of games I had was Racing types.

It wasn't until I got an xbox that I got into FPS. (and ended up being even better at that genre)

I have a slim box and cable internet & cable phone through Shaw. Not sure where my issue lies, but everytime the phone rings, my 360 disconnects from xbox live. Just got their new modem (built-in wireless), so maybe I'll try connecting to that instead of my router & see if that helps. I guess I should also check my router's log to see if it's just the WiFi or the whole internet that drops :hmm:

I never bought Forza 3 b/c I found 2 got boring quick, but I went back a week or so ago & started playing Forza 2 and realized that I got bored of it because all I ever did was do car design. Now that I'm racing, it's actually quite enjoyable.

Anyone bought BF3? feedback? The demo didn't have me quite sold.

Your issue may be caused by wireless phones on the same frequency as your router(2.4Ghz for G, and 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz for N) causing noise in the signal. Your router could have an auto setting for the channel, which broadcasts on a different channel depending on traffic(like a wireless phone ring signal) that could be reestablishing the connection when your phone rings.

I've tried setting it to channel 1, channel 11 & auto. I had three wireless phones, so I disconnected 1, but I should try one and/or both of the other ones as well. They're both 2.4Ghz, so maybe their spectrum is at either end of the ruoter's channels. I have a NetGear router which I got around the same time as my slimbox, so maybe it has something to do with it. I figure my possible causes are:
* router
* cordless phone(s)
* shaw's internet/phone combination
* 360's internal adapter weak

Luckily I don't get many phone calls :( I figure it's not Shaw b/c I don't think my desktop loses connection and (not sure) but I think my laptop keeps alive too (and it's wifi). I'll need to do more tests to track it down.

As stated, it sounds like your running your router in 2.4 mode which is for phone traffic.

netgears newer routers have setting for running wireless phones thru internet.

mines running in 5.4 or whatever because i was having signal issues when running in 2.4 mode, your pc/laptop dont use that frequency, so change it.

Ya I have a somewhat unfair bias toward racing games. Before the Forza series, the xbox didn't really have any good racing titles.

On a site note, my adapter may already be failing. :¬_¬:
Edit: Maybe it was messing up cause it's hot. The inside of this cabinet is rather hot and the adapter supposedly draws 2.5 watts of power.

Found a cool steam-like client for indie games and mods http://www.desura.com/

Also, http://www.indieroyale.com/ has a good bundle on offer

This board goes days or more with no posts. I am sad to see the last stand at an end as well. At first I was going to post this into the rant thread, but I thought about it and I learned a lot from here, which makes me happy. Also interacting with all of you made me happy; like another home away from home.

This isn't me saying I've not going to check in here anymore, but as people are drifting away, I think there is no better time than now to state how much I've enjoyed working with all of you and (as many) wish I had discovered the H2 modding scene and became involved much earlier on.

Although we all will never meet together on another game, I wish each of you the best of luck wherever life takes you and maybe, just maybe, one day we can join together for a H2 party.

I check here very often(see below), I just don't post unless I feel a need to.

I know. After my post I started checking last login dates for the past two pages of this thread and everyone (except for a few; damn you Aumaan Anubis, DragonFire & eMoneyGraphix) has checked in within 2 days. It's still active, just not alive :cry:

here here,
personally summer just ate up every last minute of the day. with winter drawing in I'll be mothing back to the glowing box in the corner. I've not found a game as much fun as modded H2, newer games look nicer but its just not as satisfying (or free like xbc{cheapskate till the end!})
I'll be back

I tried to get back into H2X but couldn't muster the interest and motivation.
My interests shifted very much toward (or rather back to) electronics. But these skills in modding will not go to waist in my future endeavors with engineering.

My (mediocre) skills in 3d modeling and vastly better understanding of data structures will prove useful.
After all, hardware design and software design go hand in hand.

I am clearly done with h2x modding as well, I learned a lot from it and it lead me to what I do today, I will never forget it nor the people with whom I modded, shared, talked, played and learned many things, its was great and it is still great to have some those people, you are still here, I still check the forum daily.

We should definitely find some game to play together that doesn't take too much time ^^ or something like that.
