Honestly I feel the same way about college. I went for about year but I could not keep my attention on any of my classes. I ended up dropping out the second half of the year knowing I was going to fail anyway. I'm not proud to say it but then again why should I care what people think. I'm happier now then I was then and that's all that matters. When the time comes I'll make a plan, but until then I'll stick to what I like.

Don't drink too much of the kool aid they're pouring out in this video, but it's worth a watch and some thought - College Conspiracy

My advice, play the game. Go to a community college and spend as little as possible taking cheap and easy courses until you can transfer to a university. Graduate as quickly as possible for the least amount of money and try to get as much real world experience during your education as a lot of classes are based mostly in theory(which is sometimes necessary and can be good for learning, but is sometimes useless) and come out with a piece of paper that will make you more likely to be hired at some places. Everyone going to college is lowering the value and raising the cost of a degree(if you stand up at a baseball game you might be able to see better, but if everyone stands up you're right where you were before). I'm not saying drop out or don't, but definitely weigh your options and make an intelligent decision. You need a plan of what you're going to do before you just drop out and not do anything.

A little backstory first. My dad smoked cigarettes for like 40 years before quitting. Obviously he has reduced lung capacity. Substancially reduced infact. Down to about 25% of what a person his age should have.
Now I get home late May, relax for a week, then start my physical training. I'm not even mad (at least not mad now) about getting (temporarily) fucked out of my Army career and I'll explain why.

Not even a full three weeks of being home my dad had a life threatening emergency. He can't breath. Lungs are moving but gasses aren't being exchanged.
So for a week or so I get to play the role of parent. Not really different from the norm anyway.
My two brothers are 2 years apart from each other while I am 6 1/2 years ahead of the oldest of the two.
I've always this semi-awkward relationship with them where I walk the line between parent and sibling.

Turns out he had pneumonia. The doc signed my dad up for oxygen equipment, which they dropped off at the house before he got back home.
He was initially unhappy about the oxygen equipment till he researched it some more. Turns out he life expectancy will actually go up using it so he's okay with using it.

Over the next few weeks his pneumonia symptoms start returning.
Woooosh. Fast forward to this last weekend. Another serious attack happens. Lungs moving, gasses aren't being swapped.
Same shit, different week but thankfully to a much less serious magnitude.

Turns out this time it wasn't pneumonia but bronchitis. He actually had bronchitis the whole time and the first trip it was masked by the pneumonia.
So that shit is squared away finally.

Back to my (very undeserved) discharge Army. The reason I'm not mad about it is because I was fated to come back home as I was soon to be needed.

On an related note, I now hate kids and parenting. I will wait at least another 15 years before continuing the family line.

I hear ya Demonic, im 5 years older then my brothers, and raised them both, when gram got sick, i moved in to take care of her.

when my mom died i had to help take care of my brothers again, and i already had kids of my own to take care of.

This caused me to miss out on better employment opps.

Now my rant:
The refinanse companies knew shit was about to go down hill in california, but they tricked me and hundreds of others in to refinansing our home loans.
They said we could take out more money to fix our roof and shit and it would cost us less in the long run, because they were going to drop our interest considerably.

It sounded shady but everyone was doing it, and the roof leaked, plus we needed a car.
So i took out a second loan, and fixed the roof, and boaght a truck for work.

Then the econemy went to shit, my wife lost her teaching job, and cant find work.
Now im almost a hundred thousand dollars upside down on my shitty little run down house that only costed 82 thousand to buy. We only took out a 30 thousand loan and a 40 thousand loan, so i dont know how i now owe 98 thousand.
Ive never missed a payment, till recently and they wouldnt except partial payments, now im 3 months behind on rent they will only except a payment of one and a half months rent or better. WTF so i can only pay one month right now, if they dont take it it will go into other bills, that i owe leaving me closer to forcloser. (I couldnt pay a full months rent last month, so how can i pay one and a half this month)

The fucking gov't bailed out the companies that lended us money, yet they raised our interest anyway.

Soon my familly will be joining the homless, thats going to make it hard to keep my job.
If anyone knows a hitman, im about to put the last of my money into life insurance plan, then head to my demise.

Not going to school today, and this will be the 5th (iirc) class ive missed in 8 school days. I have an essay due for a class I missed wensday because my friends car broke down so I went to pick him up. I know that it was my fault I missed class but I've had the worst week of my life so I think it would be better if I just stayed home, put some quality work into this essay, and just say my power went out and reset my alarm clock. Since the power has been going out almost every day here due to rain and shit.
