Did my first church sermon today! I was nervous, but I did very well, if I may say so myself. It was 20minutes long.

Congrats! I should've come to your church. Our guest speaker had good material, but a little monotone. What was your topic?

Installed Php, an Apache server, and Eclipse with PDT onto my local machine. Can't imagine why ![:] :]](./images/smilies/th_16x16smileyspecialed3ah-1.gif)

I cannot express enough how much more fucking awesome it is to work this way then dealing with Dreamweaver and having to FTP everything to the Remnantmods' server. Pure fucking win compared to Dreamweaver: and the best part is that this is legitimately free to use

What a festival, I arrived with £4 ($6-7) 2 bottles of rum, a change of clothes and no entrance ticket
I left with £500 ($750 ish) a digi camera (10.2Mp) a £30 head torch, a only used once sleeping bag, a brand new thermos, more boxes of wine than I know what to do with, a few changes of clothes and some amazing memories.

I stuck ubuntu server install on an old 2.53Ghz P4 Dell with 1GB RAM and it runs pretty well because it's only command line, could do well with a lot less than that, especially just for hosting. I want to turn it into the router for my parents sometime instead of just have it wirelessly connect, then it'd be an upgradeable wireless router with SAMBA printing and filesharing.Gary wrote:I've been thinking about it, but right now I have no computer that I could throw linux and run decently.OwnZ joO wrote:LAMP > WAMPGary wrote:I have WAMP and it works pretty good, works just like a real server.

Thanks guys! It was on the topic in Matthew 11 "Take My Yoke Upon You"
It was a lot of fun and stressful, but I am looking forward to doing my next one.

The only other computer I can use already has MINT on it(barely runs). It has a 1.5Ghz and 1GB of slow RAM.OwnZ joO wrote: I stuck ubuntu server install on an old 2.53Ghz P4 Dell with 1GB RAM and it runs pretty well because it's only command line, could do well with a lot less than that, especially just for hosting. If that's a spare "sandbox" computer that you're toying with linux on and can set it up and connect to it from the computer you work from then you'd be fine running ubuntu server addition/arch linux/debian/any linux without X11 windowing system, if it's your only one you can use period and it would have to host the server and be usable then yeah you're probably not going to be able to do that.Gary wrote:The only other computer I can use already has MINT on it(barely runs). Re: The Official Happiness Thread
My packages should arrive today. Then I can start finishing up on the island.
Edit: Ok, packages arrived. One with some 4W lamps to light the shelves and a video adapter in the other.
The quality sucks...more so than using a regular TV but such a device is so hard to come by. Maybe I'll build a better one someday.

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
Since I run 64 bit Win7, some of my apps don't work. Thankfully one of the most important to me, Entity, works just fine because of a single checkbox.
Some of the failed apps include the main RTH app I used so I need to get another RTH app to work. Thankfully many exist thanks to Remnant.
It also appears that I have many new applications and posts to catch up on. Some of which will replace the ones that won't work.

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
Well, I am lazy so it still has MINT on it... but I just installed LAMP yesterday. Working good so far, I assume since there is never more then one or two users on it at once, there is not much load on it's fragile system.OwnZ joO wrote:If that's a spare "sandbox" computer that you're toying with linux on and can set it up and connect to it from the computer you work from then you'd be fine running ubuntu server addition/arch linux/debian/any linux without X11 windowing system, if it's your only one you can use period and it would have to host the server and be usable then yeah you're probably not going to be able to do that.Gary wrote:The only other computer I can use already has MINT on it(barely runs). Ugh, installing software like this(command line) is not very user friendly, but I suppose it does keep packages up to date.

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
I just yelled as silently as I could (its 0330, and yes I do use 24 hour clock), then did a victory dance for 5 minutes while I got tea. I just welded my last vertex on my rocket model after 6 hours of welding and fucking up all of my models. They wont look like too much shit anymore. Now its time to inject my models and then find the exact center to position them.
