Original Xbox Modding
Now I haven't dabbed in the old xbox modding in well over a year and I have forgotten a lot of stuff and thought it would be easier to ask Remnant rather than google for hours.
Now I want to put like music dvd's on my original xbox (well my dad does and I have like 170gig free) I remember how to put them on using dvd2xbox but what I don't remember is a program that will let me watch them like a normal dvd with all the menus and stuff because Xbox Media Center doesn't do it.
Any help?

XBMC should be able to play them. Try using DVDX2 to play the dvds using your controller.

Re: Original Xbox Modding
Damn its been awhile sense i broke my last harddrive.
So i have my chiped 1.1 xbox with executer and slayers disk.
I busted my hdd, and now i have to replace it, so i orderedone from tiger direct, be here in a week.
I cant remember what i did the last time to install new hdd.
I have the slayers disk but with out the hdd prepped i cant load the disk.
I guess it time to read some outdated tutorials.
If at all possible i dont want to open my pc case. (its hard to get to, and the cords wont reach far enough if i could get to it).
Any help would be appreciated

If its a xecuter 3 then you just pop the drive in like normal by setting the jumper to cable select or master, then in the X3 bios you select to format a new HDD, then lock the drive if you need to use the original dash.Ogrish wrote:Damn its been awhile sense i broke my last harddrive.

He means live bios but there is an easier option. Just put the HDD in and insert the slayers disk. The disk will boot and you can install evox, or the original ms dash. Or you can FTP to it and put your own dash there. It's your choice, but I would recommend installing ms dash first.Ogrish wrote:It wont load dash without a hdd, it wont even load the disk.

On the main screen of xbmc, there should be a play button, you can press it when you load a dvd. I just found that out yesterday when I went to watch a movie with it. Before I had just turned on stacking and that works also.RaZoR73 wrote:It only plays the files like at a time ill try with a different version of dvd2xboxxzodia wrote:What do you mean XBMC doesnt do it?

The play button is in the bottom right corner of the main screen. It's yellow with a play triangle in it.

Just give DVDX2 a try so you don't have to rip your dvds, I'll send it if this link doesn't work.RaZoR73 wrote:It only plays the files like at a time ill try with a different version of dvd2xboxxzodia wrote:What do you mean XBMC doesnt do it?

Re: Original Xbox Modding
Okay got it all working...
Now.. how would I go about making XBMC my default dash? I think I did it sometime by replacing the XBMC default.xbe with the evox or default.xbe?
I'm asking first cause I don't wanna fuck it up.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Original Xbox Modding
Thinking about it, when I first soft modded my Xbox, I remeber people saying to always back up your drive... I never did XD
Mainly it was because my old HDD for my computer was to small, that and never got over to it.
