*Tortuga* by DoorM4n--Update 7/9/11

Welcome all,

I proudly present to you a map that is 2 months in the making with over 60 new models, 14 new weapons, and 3 completely new vehicles. The user will have a right to a boat and WILL be able to swim, but watch out for the kraken! The castle, that I have shown very little of, will be one base. The pirate ship will be the other base. Cannons will be strategically placed throughout the map, as well as the 15 new weapons. This thread is a development thread that is used to keep me interested and dedicated. This mod should be released sometime soon, but I just wanted to show you all what my final project is. Enjoy! Feel free to ask any questions you may have.

There is much map development to continue, and it will be accomplished. Right now I am focusing on getting collision for everything and that is a slow and steady process. :)

Update as of July 9th. Phmo and Collision is nearly perfect. It took me around 20 hours to get it done the way I liked it. :oops: Here you get a picture of the boats and more map development.

How many restarts? None so far!!! :D :D I've had many scares though, like when I find holes or I need particular chunks.
I strategically added all my meta in other maps and individually edited over 65 pieces of meta, tested them in other maps and added them to my map. I internalized all bitmaps and got everything organized, then I added all my chunks after injecting and tada!

As long as I don't need more meta in my map, which I don't think I will since I thoroughly planned this whole damn thing out in 3ds max :P , I will be fine.

I am constantly checking UberAnalyze Tool and I have 4 holes in my map. I know that they came from the collision boxes though. I hope it doesn't affect system link. :)

Oh and one key thing to remember is to have a folder dedicated to your backups so that each time you do something even remotely significant, you make a back up.

Alright guys! I'm very close to releasing! I've decided to nix custom sounds for now and maybe I'll put them in later. I've been so busy lately with studying for the LSAT and preparing for school that I haven't had much time. It may be released this weekend depending on circumstances! :D :D
