No need to get emotional. We're all on the same team here. Neodos has certainly shown resourcefulness in H2 research, so if you and he don't see eye to eye on something, assume it's just a difference of opinion between intelligent people and leave it at that. Probably a good policy across the board.Grimdoomer wrote:BECUASE YOU DONT READ SHIT JESUS CHRIST!
Whoever is ultimately right, good for them, but until we're loading custom BSPs, let's all just keep trying.
Anyway, this thread is about H2: The Pit.

Re: Halo 2: The Pit
Not that big of an issue for me. I don't work on this the moment I get home. I've got a lot of things going on at the moment, and I won't let a silly Halo 2 map get in the way. I do make a little progress every week, however.neodos wrote:Anyway this is taking forever...
This can't possibly take longer than Soffish. Or Prometheus lawl.

Re: Halo 2: The Pit
I say throw it into Onyx and build the collision already. After you've got something playable, if you still feel like it, you can continue tweaking the model. Otherwise, my crystal ball says the mod will never happen. Perfection is the enemy of completion.

Re: Halo 2: The Pit
This won't be using Onyx.
I don't know when BSP compiling will be possible; it may never be, but I don't mind. I'm not going for anything else. This project is rather selfish, for it's more like "I want to model a map" rather than "Let's play something together guys".

Shit you should put that into halo 1 for xbox or something, that way you get some use out of it if compiling bsp's never becomes a reality for halo 2(I hope that's not true, but just in case).

Re: [WIP] Halo 2: The Pit
My goodness you guys, do you remember this? Fuck, I never went through with this project all the way. Now that I have free time (minus approaching testing), I would like to do some work with this, but with a little twist that involves stretching out walkways and such, and adding an outdoor area.
The reason is that I feel like this design, not being mine to begin with, bored me to tears. Now that I understand "Edit Poly" (lul), I'd like to get back at this and give the community something to look forward to.
What do you guys think? Is it a shit idea to even try to work on something The Pit-esque anymore? This would be the third time I've had to start this damn project.

This is also literally my main motivation.Aumaan Anubis wrote:If you don't finish this, Zach, I swear to God, I WILL do something.

Considering the power I now hold over at HaloMods as well, I would suggest you get your ass to work.

At the point were you were you could finish the model in a few days and have it with textures, if you work faster.
