Well, first, the site says X2 6Pin power adapter, I only have one, can I use a Y connector.

I ordered a Nidiva GTX 260 and I was wondering if I can use an HDMI TV as a secondary monitor.

Also, this a good TV?

By the way, why do cards come with an S-video output :?

I've wondered this myself on several occasions so I looked it up...
Wikipedia wrote:Due to a lack of bandwidth, S-Video connections are generally not considered suitable for high-definition video signals. As a result, HD sources are generally connected to a monitor by way of analog component video or wideband digital methods (usually HDMI or DVI). However, when using older monitors with S-Video but without HDMI and DVI, some graphics cards have full display (including bootup display) with HDMI, DVI, and S-Video and partially full display (displaying only after the OS boots up) with component and composite. So in this case, S-Video works well, as it allows the user to see the display in the event that they need to adjust settings in the CMOS.
So its a sorta debug thing...

Ha, I thought it was like a dual monitor thing(was not planning on using it that way for this set up). Glad you looked it up and now I know.

-_- I thought that'd let me plug my TV into my computer.. seeing as I have an older TV ..still 36"
but I wondered why the S-video cable was only about 6 inches long...

BTW:
Image
put my old USB thumb-drive inside an old mac pro mouse...
also tore apart an old mac laptop, mouse came with it, and at the time of building this.. regretted not grabbing the USB female plugs from the board of the mac laptop...
if I had done this I would not have had to solder the wires from the mouse cord onto my USB drive... that was a bitch.. those connections are tiny but I did get it on my first try, didng mix up 5v with ground or anything....
before I had my thumb-drive inside the plug end of an xbox controller.. that was neat.. the USB end stuck out where the plug to the xbox should be.. but I thought a mouse would be funnier.. also scratched off the apple logo inside the mouse..

yea.. a buddy gave me an idea, if I can find like a 2-port usb hub I'll put that inside it so I can haz usb stick&working mouse XD but other than that it still looks neat, not that I'll use my usb stick for much now.. I got an external hdd enclosure for my laptop drives, so I now have a 20gb laptop drive that plugs into 2 usb ports.. not sure if it needs both ports.. but it has another usb plug for more power to the drive..

got my monitors off my desk, and cleaned up my desk, all that's left for awhile is rotating my LCD monitor.. currently its sideways with the display rotated, I did this because I need to modify the bracket that holds it on the stand, but until then it is sideways, which btw is a pain in the ass... it's "widescreen" so now its.. tallscreen..

Next time you post pictures, don't use photobucket's thumbnail system. I am not even going to wait for those pages to load because there so damn slow.

Though, from what I can tell from the thumbnails, you have a pretty interesting computer setup, I'll have to post mine once I get my secondary screen.

Didn't take much time for me to load them... and my internet isn't "great" either...
yours must be really shitty (no offense intended) if its taking that much time to load them
Link to the album where the images are if that helps at all..
also I would be interested to see other people setups, I know mine's not great but I don't have a lot of room in my bedroom, even though I don't have a bed two couches don't give me a lot of options as to where my desk/computer goes..
(I have this strange feeling Dragonfire has the best setup of us all...)

Well, it is slow, but the longest I had to wait for something was a minute.

How is gentoox? I've never really messed with Linux on the pc a whole lot, I ran xubuntu like once and xdsl like once or twice. I love linux for the pc though, ubuntu and derivatives of it and arch linux are pretty nice.
