Hoverboard Theory Testing
After a lot of investigation into how to make a hovercraft, I put together this mock-up before buying real materials....

Re: Hoverboard Theory Testing
So... I'm confused.
You have a platform on top of a bag. You put the garbage can on top of the platform. The bag inflates, and therefore lifting the platform, therefore lifting the garbage can?
Unfortunately, in my definition of 'hoverboard,' a hoverboard is a little different than that. Unless, of course you're just testing out the theory. And even then, a hoverboard that floats in the same spot is pretty useless.
However, if you're attempting to actually build a real, 'hoverboard,' I encourage you to do so, and hope it works out!

if you complete a REAL hoverboard, SELL IT
lol.
lol.
xzodia, the creator of this hoverboard, includes a revolutionary design. The funny thing is, he created this futuristic device out of boredom.

Re: Hoverboard Theory Testing
I was testing how much air was needed, how stable it was etc

Allright then, good luck!
P.S. A garbage can has different proportions than a human being

Re: Hoverboard Theory Testing
You need two flat turbines made out of carbone for the hovering and a plasma jet for acceleration lawl
I want a hoverboard since i saw back to the future :p
Nice hoverboard, so the bag has warm air ?

i'd like to think so, unless he's just inflating the bag? ... (of course it is hot air zachary, you silly ...)neodos wrote:so the bag has warm air ?

That would make more sense.
Hot air rises. w8....

Re: Hoverboard Theory Testing
Yes, hot air rises but its rising effect wouldn't be anywhere sufficient to make any difference other than making the bags hot.Aumaan Anubis wrote:That would make more sense.

Meh, every little bit helps. But that's up to one's own opinions.

I cut some holes in the bottom to generate lift, then took it downstairs to float a bag of stuff around the kitchen lol

Re: Hoverboard Theory Testing
Hmm i think maybe the trick to creating hovering objects is Gravity vs. Pull. You just need something that Can 0 out gravity and the weight of what it is made out of thus making it weigh 0 Lbs But the trick may have to be super powered magnets in this diagram this is how it may work:
But there has to be a load for different forces to push and or pull.
Not too sure on how well this will work but i say that its worth a go.
(i wish i had big magnets!)

Re: Hoverboard Theory Testing
For Hoverboard Alpha 2, I made something with a little more power >_>
Instead of a hairdryer and cardboard I used a leaf blower and a plank of wood XD
It could almost lift me off the ground, if I shifted my weight...but it was still funz
It still doesnt glide very well but I'm looking into it

Dude I've made several real sized hovercrafts. And yes I/you can ride it Ill dig up the plans....
Don't snort the magic, we need it for the network.

Yeah, I find the antigravity boosters are a bit tricky to hook up.

Don't forget to put places for your feet to go, and strap them in, so that you don't fall off during flight.
Of course, if the board flips over, you're going with it

Re: Hoverboard Theory Testing
yea, you can make a hover board and ride it, it just doesnt hover very high....
there was a mythbusters episode when they made 2 hover boards, one could hover and move on its own.... with 3 leaf blowers powering it.
still, they dont hover more then maybe half an inch off the ground....
