Official Mutation WIP Thread

Post by Grimdoomer »

As I'm working on Mutation, I'm going to be updating this thread with pics of the build. Here are a couple to show off the UI and a couple of Mutations themes.

Interesting...
If this is released, I may even come back to modding, this looks great!
It seems you can also create whole new tags, not just dupe an old one, so no unneeded extra crap to deal with, and hows the animation injection coming along?

I'm gunna write a max exporter to export information on coll and phmo, then when you inject it will create coll and phmo tags to go with the model.

Considering no one has helped the tinyest bit with research, it's not progressed since I last looked at animation raw.......

All you need to be able to do is use a hex editor. If you would like to help then spead the word or something idk.

Can Detox not post for him self?

Anyway, I think it looks good, I do not care if it looks like prometheus nor do I think anyone else really does.

I dislike the UI components being used, nor do I approve of large, empty space.

It seems like a lot of UI components make apps a little slower. I know that sometimes they make things a lot prettier and a little easier to program with, but you have to mix that with non-sluggishness. I'm not saying that this program suffers sluggishness, I've never used it. It's just an observation I've made from some of the libraries I've used.

I love it!!!

I do agree with NotZachary, that leaves a lot of space.
I suggest making the window smaller  Am I the only who thinks that the UI's option set is a little confusing?

EDIT:
BTW, I think we don't need an awesome UI, we need proper apps :D

Thanks a lot, Grim!

Although it does look like Prometheus, I was not intentionally copying it's look.

The only part that runs slow is the Tag Editor, and not by much. I've been benchmarking Guerilla, making tweaks and improving performance in Mutation and comparing the times. And people must understand that some tags take a couple secounds to load, and that I am consirned about speed. BTW It takes Guerilla a whole 8 seconds to load the scenario layout.

Looking forward to the application.

But the control layout bugs me. Maybe make it a little bit more subtle.

I think the UI is sex.

The big empty space just needs to be filled.

Also, I didn't notice one already, but I think a progress bar should go somewhere, I like to know if the program locked up or is working...

For what? There is nothing that takes that long that it would need a progress bar except Building which is on another screen.

I still need to fill those yet.

It's a map builder, with a whole lot of features.

Tag creation, I have a DDS library just about done, and I will be able to start map decompiling as soon as I finish my plugin adventure.
