Banned; again >_<

Post by JacksonCougar »

Gawd this made my day... :|

I put a fairly rude, un-targeted comment in my post using the [font-size=0] method. It was just another example of my stress getting the better of me...

Sadly I doubt I'll get out of this anytime soon...

That is unbelievable. It wasn't the one in the .999999 thread, was it?

It's your last post, so I'm going to assume that it was the reason. If you got banned, jks should too, with his unnecessary comment to me. Funny, I thought that he was a decent person before that thread.

Chances are that he will be unbanned within a week.
They ban him allot if you did notice. About once a month or two, eh Jackson?

Then around a week, hes unbanned.

The whole "Readers Club" thing is bullshit anyway, most of the higher-ups don't have the heart, or balls, to truly ban anyone.

BTW, exactly how many "warnings" have you received so far?

Yea; you don't get warning on Halomods; You simply spend five minutes refreshing the page wondering what happened to your edit button.

Arguments with Tural are the most amusing, since he tries to win using his intellect.
Smart never wins over stubborn.

Well, what if the free thinking involves making remarks about somebody everybody loves. The remarks are true thoughts and about Staff members that are intended to enlighten the person what he is doing wrong. Then...what if that member can't handle the truth and decides to put me in Reader's Club because he doesn't like being told the harsh truth that he is a disrespectful fool. It's called reading the Bible. You can learn ALOT from it.

Then these people try to increase their reputation by making me look bad. Why do people care so much about their reputation? I don't understand that. Your reputation in the real world is most precious and very understandable. However, on the internet website that only nerds, like myself, use; completely removes the fragility of your reputation. Do the right thing... no matter what. People do not want to be bitched at about their faults. Influence, motivate, and help others. Don't point out their faults.

Love USA XD

^^ Posted so that people know what the hell you're talking about.

Free thinking expressed as remarks are fine. It's when the remarks point out someone's faults in a way that the person who is targeted sees as offensive. Humans never enjoy criticism, and never will. The first human instinct is to fight back, and therefore may be why you were thrown into the Readers' Club. The thing that people, even moderators, need to understand is that when you are "attacked," you have to control yourself, and not to dish out the first punishment you see fit. To avoid being punished, it is recommended that the person who "attacks" does so in a calm manner. He/She must do so without saying anything that can be seen as offensive to the targetee. He/She also should state their reason why they are targeting someone. If you believe it's an abuse of power, state so. If you believe that this person never is punished because they have people of authority backing them up, state so. But what you don't do is insult them, or criticize them in a flaming manner.
I am in no way referring to either -Detox- or DoorM4n in my above thoughts.
Also, I suggest not bringing religion into the conversation.

A human's instinct is to have authority over others. Therefore, you have control, and can manipulate your surroundings as you see fit. Though, your reputation in the real world is precious, as you stated, it's much easier to gain a reputation over the internet, and through reputation comes authority. You can hide your faults, and you're forced/allowed to think about what you say before you actually say them. Humans rarely want to "go down fighting," or "doing the right thing," as you said. They want to hold on to as much power/authority/reputation as they can.

Yes, very true. People want authority. It's common but once people get power it seems like they go overboard. I love how you stated that nobody likes to be criticized. Nobody wants to hear bad thoughts about something they did. Maybe telling them it needs work is fine, but to leave it at that and not include a supporting statement to motivate them is very confusing. I don't understand why others can't be so respectful and appreciative.

There has never been a person like me to stand up against authority at halomods. In history, so many countries have had revolutions because of the corrupt gov't. That is kinda why the UK and United States are so successful in "parts" of their gov't system. However, when you have corrupt leaders, you will have a revolt. I'm trying to help others and motivate them. Not shun them. Stating, "0your logic is flawed" is freakn ridiculous. I don't understand how somebody can make such a rude remark like that. Who wants to hear that? I personally don't. Stating something like, "You may be a bit confused on your information; you probably mean this..." is helping or notifying them in a polite manner. Manners. That is a fun word. It has some very interesting definitions in the english language.

When a person attains power, they also want to change their surroundings, as I stated before. There is an urge to change things as you want, even though it may not be right. But, the person with power thinks that it is right, that, or they're abusing power and are in deep denial about doing so.

If you critique someone, you should also include a supporting statement.

If by "corrupt," you mean "biased," then I can guarentee you, every government is corrupt. We are inclined to give more and invest more time in those who have done the same to us. It's just the way life works.

You talk of rebellion. But ask yourself, if I was able to get everyone on HM to rebel against the moderators and administrators, what would that accomplish? Nothing. We all get permanently banned and are never seen again. There's not a way that we can overthrow Grenadiac or any of them. Not that I want to, either. You could always hack your way through security, but that becomes just as bad as you claim they are, you're abusing your power and basically taking HaloMods through a back entrance, instead of "going down fighting." This is why nobody would rebel, because it wouldn't do any good. You may have inspired some to think about Moderators in a different way, but they most likely won't act on it. Just because nothing good will come out of it.

"Your logic is flawed" isn't an altogether bad statement. It's when it is left at that, without additional explanation is when one feels as though they are being attacked. Though, there are many better ways to say "Your logic is flawed," as you've explained.

To make my message short; I will have to agree that you are a deep thinker like myself. I am glad to see others analyze situations.

Oh, and I really didn't mean...overthrow or a complete rebellion. I think of people lke Martin Luther King Jr who was able to show and lead the US to a better world. I feel like I am trying to show others that the Staff are not fit for their job. They are staff but they don't show signs of respect. I would think Staff are to be respectful and helpful. Detox and Tural are rarely helpful after reviewing their last 200 posts...

That's not true, if you're referring to HaloMods. He resigned not too long ago, so I doubt that he'd want to be a moderator here anymore.
