Remnantmods

Does anyone have experience with cluster or grid computing? I'm thinking about making a cluster from some old laptops with Openssi. ~2011 laptop with good Nvidia card, ~2008 laptop with 2 Ati cards possibly, and the rest have Intel integrated cards. I'd like to use opencl exclusively, though the jetson does not support it; the speed increase from purchasing one, however, is very compelling. I am training deep neural networks, and the results are fun to play with, though on an older non gaming laptop which I can only train off of the cpu (xp originally installed, gnu/linux now), a ten to fifteen minutes gpu task is now only 25 percent done after 11 hours in.
