Well learning the language is not what's really important, learning programming concepts is what's important. You can look up the syntax of a language, ideas take a while to learn and understand. I would say the same to you grim, you can write code that works, but you really don't know much about good programming practices.Grimdoomer wrote:Evolve and build apon your knowledge and never give up!NotZachary82 wrote:well, i made a basic application (non-halo related) in Visual Basic. i made another in C# for practice. the coding was smooth, but i failed to learn the language as i should have ...

I most likely won't be on SNL, but I have always wanted to be on it. It's usually not very funny when you type out a joke and all you see is text on the internet. But people at my school find me to be funny, meaning they probably would not laugh at the things I say if it were typed and they read it on a screen. Am I making sense?NotZachary82 wrote:ill be the judge of that. tell a joke.Vaati wrote:-Be on Saturday Night Live

Code that is future-proof.. easily extend-able.. and if passed on to another; easily and quickly understood. That means good naming conventions.. a practical, working, thought-out structure that can support all possible scenarios (related..).. and making full use of your knowledge of built-in methods and members.. Good-practices do not necessarily mean fastest, but they do mean longevity.Grimdoomer wrote:I still dont understand what every one means by "good practice"

and according to my friend The500Sun, the Tag Members and Header should be stored as "Integers" rather than "Longs"? they are 32bit numbers, correct?

I would recommend not using his tutorials. I would recommend learning enough about programming to understand how to read BinaryData, and then learning enough about Halo Map Files to know which data to read and store.NotZachary82 wrote:i've been trying to make one, if not two, halo 2 apps. i was using grimdoomer's tutorial, but it is unfinished
