405nm 90mW Blu-Ray Laser Pointer

Post by Click16 »

Well hi everybody. I have completed building my new laser pointer. It looks and performs great. I hope that many of you are interested in this! It is at 405nm. For those of you who don't know what nm is, It stands for Nanometers. It shows color values of the visible light spectrum.

Here is a image to show you what I mean.

-2.6 pixels = 1nm

If you are interested in building a burning laser pointer, or just a homemade laser that does NOT burn, you can build this driver circuit to stop potentially destroying your laser. Penguin didn't use the circuit, but their is that chance that it might possibly give one day.

You could test this circuit with a bulb, if it works make sure your capacitor is drained of power before soldering your diode, or else you will be screwed.

Here is the driver circuit.

Here is a driver circuit for people without much experience:

You really need to use a circut board. It looks like you made a lizzard out of wires >_>

I told him that before he even had the parts.

Just get a solderless breadboard. That way you don't have to solder anything. You just pop the parts in and connect them with a few jumpers and your good to go.

I made this before I even thought of using a breadboard. It's okay though.

I think I'm going to order two laser modules and make a duel spiralgraph.

Where did you buy your module from? Was it from mfgcn?

That was fun burning you with it.

I was replying to his edit.

Hey click by next weekend I'll have a BlueRay laser as well. I should get started on that driver circuit.

No laser for me. My brother Ant went to attach the battery, He touched the terminals backwards. So positive ran through negative and negative ran through positive. The diode fried itself. Now it's only a faint glow. He is ordering me another PHR-803T Sled. (Thankfully...)

This is why I don't want other people using my laser. Now do you understand penguin... Even though you know what your doing, I don't want to blame you or whoever brakes it. If you broke it when I was over your house, the one your getting this weekend, will be mine. Unless you are buying a different Blu-Ray sled.
