Well all of the stock maps are on there, not 11GB right there, but a good start when you have lots of other images, patches, programs and all the forum stuff besides that.

Re: The Official Rant Thread
My summer history course is getting frustrating. My professor is obsessed that Lincoln is/was the devil.
Yes, he defiled the Constitution, imprisoned thousands of people, and was an overall jackass, but I'm tired of hearing about it. There is not a topic I could care less about.

He actually had no right to do so at the time. The CSA was its own country, and the President of the USA declared "no more slaves in the south"... well thats like America telling Britain, "Fuck tea time, go to work".bumlove wrote:Yep the guy that abolished slavery in America was evilAumaan Anubis wrote:My professor is obsessed that Lincoln is/was the devil., sounds like you're tutor's family lost out to such an evil mans actions.

Re: The Official Rant Thread
I'm all for freeing slaves and I commend him for that, and I'm pretty much OK that the Union was preserved, but Lincoln freed them solely as a war measure. He did not believe in the slightest that they should actually be free.
Though, this information just may be a product of my professor's biased findings and other historians' subjective views, so I understand I may be wrong.
Also, I know I brought it up, but I'm not a fan of political discussion, past or present. Keep it cooooooooooool.

not sure normally always causes trouble, having said that I like causing trouble.
I have a few other points but........ Anubis hates the subject and I don't like the idea of not having tea time.

haha, I don't mind if you have rebuttal points on the topic. I definitely made points of my own, so it would be unfair to deprive anyone else that opportunity. That being said, the "keep it co...oool" comment was intended to make it a calm discussion. As in no flaming, personal attacks, etc.

I heard that the emancipation proclamation didn't actually free many slaves at least immediately, check out the wiki for a reference on that. It said 50,000 out of the ~4,000,000 were immediately free.

Re: The Official Rant Thread
When you look back at this kind of thing you have to take it with the zeitgeist from back then, and not todays current one,
History is is full of guys that are revered, but under closer inspection weren't such super guys, Winston Churchill allowed 1000's of British striking miners to starve to death
Sorry,
See I can't help it, I'm a bloody bother causer

Apart from there was a almost global ban on slavery by that time, yeah most goods things are motivated in an ass backards kind of way, Oh hang on isn't most of the oil is in the south USA.Thrasher Alpha wrote:He actually had no right to do so at the time. Re: The Official Rant Thread
This laptop has possibly one of the shittiest Ethernet plugs available.
It just can't keep a physically solid connection to the contacts.
This also doesn't help the fact that the WLAN insists on resetting itself EVERY FUCKING TIME THE CABLE MOVES!
The two adapters are bridged and the bridge apparently loves resetting all the time unless I leave the laptop motionless. Then it only resets when it feels like it.

Dodgy cable perhaps?, could the spring tension on the port be low?DemonicSandwich wrote:This also doesn't help the fact that the WLAN insists on resetting itself EVERY FUCKING TIME THE CABLE MOVES!
Try test continuity on the patch lead, (you know what I mean)
if the lead is good turn the lap top off and pull the pins in the RJ45 port up slightly

Re: The Official Rant Thread
It's not the shotty construction that angers me. It's the fact that one device failing causes another completely separate piece of hardware to needlessly reset.
I also need to find processes that I don't need running and kill them permanently as I start up the laptop and see that 60% of the RAM is already consumed.
Win7's Task Manager has no balled anymore. So many apps can hide from it.
Some of the same applications I ran on Vista don't show up on it in 7.
It used to be the best tool in making a PC more efficient by brute force.

I'm at a complete loss for why my v1.1 Xbox won't run in Debug mode. So far, none of the fixes I've found on Remnant have worked and to make things worse, 64-bit Win7 can only run about a fourth of Halo2 programs
