I was thinking we could use Emblems to show skills,
mainly modding,
(H2X)
- AI Modder - Modeler - Script Writer - Skinner - APP Coder -

AI Modder: Can have AI in MP and change their Weapons,Teams,Spawns, health, shields.

Modeler: Can Inpect great looking Models into halo2, and UV them.

Script Writer: Cam Understand a write/Re-write scripts

Skinner: Can Make great looking skins for vehicles, weapons,BSP,and anything else that CAN be skinned.

APP Coder: Can Write APPs and have already made one or two GOOD ones.

--------
This is just an Idea, I hope you guys like it, if so, POST saying that you like it, and this my happen.
One of my skills is "AI Modder", I'm trying to learn scripts

Its not so much thats its a bad idea its that you didn't really do allot to present the idea.

Thats such a small margin of skills you've listed.
Theres [jmad] editor.
Theres vehicle rigging.
Theres effect editing.
...and many more...

But all and all there wouldn't be much of a use for it anyway.
People would have to present maybe a small amount of proof to prove they can do it.
...and once they have the emblem...so what... <_<

Emblems are to prove that you've done something to contribute to the forum or community in a positive way, not to display your skills.

Maybe we can simplify this by creating "Guilds".

Each Guild would consist of several, yet related skills that involve one aspect of modding:

An example would be a Skinning Guild:

Skills:

Bitmap Injection.
Bitmap Editing.
Shader Editing.
Other.

Each Guild could have a Leader, and then the "Rank" in the guild is given out by the leader and any others: perhaps sub-leaders?

It could turn into something really cool, getting people involved in modding more, giving poeple something to do for fun, and helping people figure out who to talk to for help.

We could even expand on this idea more if anyone finds it as interesting as me :p

Yeah, people that need stuff like that are usually just into themselves. Your next argument will probably that we should have them so people can get help, but you can post a thread asking for help and people that know what they're talking about can just respond to that thread.

He dislikes the idea I mentioned (mb) because he wouldn't have sole control over all the emblems anymore :O
Not that he's very forthcoming with the current ones anyways ;)

I just don't like it because "guilds" belong in MMORPGs, not forums XP

Agree, and also don't say that medals are not made to show skill, obiviously it does for all at HM too, there are medals about helping the community to progress but that's just 2 of 15 :/
