I was thinking it would make it easier to upload files to the server, I even made this concept for a possible design.
I was also thinking of a file browser, though, it is less important as long as the user can browse the directories through there internet browser.
Note that this was made in paint and is not a working script or page, just an image.
As you can see I tried to keep the look of the forum for it.
Sadly I do not have the knowledge to create such a script or web-based program, but I hope that someone here does and might consider creating something similar.
Oops. forgot some trash in the images, just don't mind the two radio buttons under the logo... and there's a typo... how do I miss these things?

Re: [Idea] File uploader?
Why bother, just use attachments. I might pursue a separate idea however...

Re: [Idea] File uploader?
Doesn't the attachment's have a size limit?(though you can change it), though why would you tell people to use FTP to upload files to the server instead of use attachments?
And so why have to use ftp when you can just use an uploader?

Re: [Idea] File uploader?
Attachments are for normal attach-ie things, FTP is for random junk that has no need for a forum topic. Dur.

Re: [Idea] File uploader?
The attachments file size limit needs to be changed.
Such a setting exists in the ACP but a value that is hardcoded overrides the setting down to 2MB.

That value is override-able theres a file you have to edit in the directory...DemonicSandwich wrote:The attachments file size limit needs to be changed.

Re: [Idea] File uploader?
Looks like it would be a bit hard to do it but anyway from 4 http uploaders i could try it doesn't upload as fast as ftp and you cannot really see the progress.

Re: [Idea] File uploader?
Indeed. I may add a user mod that allows registered and approved users like a 100Mb quota to upload images and shit to a private directory, so that you guys can upload images and be sure they will stick around (and be able to link to them elsewhere as well...).
