...:; Getting XBConnect to work ;:...

Cheers, I wrote this tutorial because I want the next Gamers Night's hosted on XBConnect, and can't get XLink Kai to work >.>.

So this will help if you have no idea about how to use XBConnect.

.:: Step 1 ::.

Download and install XBConnect

Download :D - Direct link

If for some reason during installing the installed asks to you that if you want to install the WinCap Driver, ALWAYS INSTALL IT!!!!

.:: Step 2 ::.

When you first run it, it will show the tems and conditions, as always, don't read it and just click agree :D

If you dont have an account yet, then create it.

When creatting your account, you should use _, spaces are not allowed k,k?

.:: Step 3 ::.

Make sure you have your xbox connected to the same network as your modem and pc.

Turn on your Xbox, Start Halo 2, Go to System Link, and just stay in the "Looking for games" screen.

Now look at the bottom of the UI, it should say "Looking for console via [your network name]"
If you have your xbox in the "Looking for games" screen, it should dissapear in a few seconds

JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOU XBOX THERE BEFORE CREATING YOUR ACCOUNT!!! k

.:: Step 4 ::.

If it dissapears, then great, if not, then try again :D

Now the GUI looks confussing, right?

But now...

For enter to a game room...

Double click it, make sure your xbox is looking for games, then a window will appear showing the players in the room, and the chat.

For leave a game room...

First, leave the game in your xbox, then click in "End Game" button or "Leave game" i dont remember :D

If you are having trouble with Xlink Kai there are usually moderators or administrators or just regular users online that can help you out...if you cannot get it to connect at all..have you tried the forums? Do Not Post A New Topic On The Forums , unless you have looked through all of the topics and have made sure that your problem has not been answered....it usually has been...i have seen once when someone has had an original error.......

lol, I noticed that too but did want to say anything.

Xlink works it just takes a while for it to realize that your xbox is connected. I got it working but I was impatient waiting for it to configure, I think it was configuring...

Bastard.

And maybe I'll try this, though, as some people may be able to tell you, if I'm host, its more like I'm cheating... I fly around and you can never hit me XD

That status bar isn't even there for me so I would assume it was the text area in that pic.

XBC has worked for me fine in the past, but now i can join, but not host.
Im firewalled even when my walls off.
It finds my xbox but if i open a room theres no traffic.
And i think noone can see my game.

And for xlink kai Help talk to T.T he works there.

If you have a router then chances are you don't have ports open for your pc's IP address. Also don't use the skinless version, its glitchy and runs slower for me.
