Teleporter Adding Tutorial

Post by Click16 »

Hello welcome to my teleporter adding tutorial for Halo 2 Xbox.

Some things we need before we get started:
Entity W/ updated plug-ins
Notepad or a sheet of paper to copy some info down
A map with the type of teleporter you want (2 Way, Receiver, Sender)

Let's get started!

• Open any map of your choice in Entity.
• Open any map that has the type of teleporter you want. I'm going to use Coagulation.
• In your map with the teleporters, go to the meta editor and select the scenario.
• In the meta editor, scroll down until you see something like "Netgame Flags." Open notepad or grab a sheet of paper and write down the chunk # for the receiver and sender or the 2 way teleporter. It should say the coordinates of it and the type. The type is what your looking at.

• Now tile both of the maps windows horizontally. Go to the Chunk Cloner and copy the chunks that you wrote in notepad or on a piece of paper.
• Go to your maps scenario and go to the chunk cloner and add the new chunks.
• In your teleporter map, go to the scenery tag class.
Select objects\multi\2way_teleporter\2way_teleporter. Save it.
• In your map you want to add the teleporter, build in the 2 way teleporter.
• Close the map that you got the teleporter tag from and maximize your map. Go to the scenario tag and go to the chunk cloner. Go to the Scenery Palette and clone any chunk be sure to take note on the name so you dont swap the wrong one.
• Go to the meta editor and find the "scenery palette" Swap the chunk you cloned with the 2 way teleporter.
• Go to the chunk cloner in the scenario again and clone 2 scenery chunks. Take note on those names as well.
• Go to the meta editor and swap those two types with the 2 way teleporter.
• Go to the BSP Viewer. Use the Spawns to find them and move them wherever you want. write down the coordinates for them.
• Go back to the scenario and go to the meta editor. Find "Netgame Flags"
Change the Teleporter Source and Teleporter Destination to what you copied from the BSP viewer. Set the team to neutral. Press save.
