HUD Editing - Changing HUD Color

Post by Click16 »

Hello welcome to my tutorial that will tell you how to change the color of the masterchief or the elite's HUD color.

This tutorial is better then using Detox's HUD Color app because this will tell you how to change the color of the shield meter AND changes the Crosshair to not be black.

Requirements:
Function Color Editor (Special Thanks Jackson Cougar! 8-) )
MS Paint
Entity With Updated NDHT plugin

1. Open your map in FCE. (FCE = Function Color Editor)
2. Select ui\hud\shaders\widget_gradient_flash.
3. Select Function 0, The blue is the spartan, the purple is the elite.
4. Open MS Paint, Go to Colors > Edit Colors... Find the color that you want. Copy the RGB values and past them into FCE.
5. Save and Go to Function 1. Change them to whatever you like. (Recommended: A darker version of the first colors.)
6. The next colors are the colors on the motion sensor that are red when your in range of an enemy. (Change it if you like.)
7. Don't change the next function.
8. Change this to what Function 0 is.
9. Don't Change the last one.
8. If you want to change the color of the cross hair, Go to ui\hud\shaders\widget_simple_flash_red. Select Function 1 those are the cross hair colors. Choose Function 0, they are the colors they turn if your looking at an enemy.
9. (IF multi-player) Go to ui\hud\shaders\camo_meter. Function 0 is what your shield color will be. Function 2 is whats behind the shield. Now that that's finished, Close FCE and Open your map in Entity.

Go to the [ndht] Tag-Class and select Masterchief. Go to the meta editor.
10. Select Shield meter. Change the shader to camo_meter. Do the same with the elite's hud.

Resign the map and send it.

NOTE: to change the ammo colors and text for the ammo or grenades, edit things in ui\hud\shaders\ammo_meter

There is one thing that cant be done when you do this: when you pick up the overshield, it wont show up on the shield meter...
