PHMO editing: Lifts Explanation

Post by neodos »

Hello

How to edit lifts proprieties

Here's a little example:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=RNRCh9xI7Os

What we need:
Entity 1.6UE (or whatever you want but i'll be using this)

My Phmo plugin:

http://www.trashalo.hostgratos.net/plugins/phmo.ent
right clic save as

I'll give a quick example for this lift; you can get the tags here:
http://forums.remnantmods.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=178

It's called glugun.

I took the [phmo] from 01a_tutorial.map
scenarios\objects\special\player_cage_strict\player_cage_strict

This lift hast for effect to suck the player into it it's a cylinder model i guess.
The lifts generally have as model a little cube to indicate it's "entrance"

Let's take a look to its proprieties:

Image

This reflexive is used to edit the lift, as you can see i name a few values i found what those are for, you can show unknown to test more values that are rarely used.

The flags:

Reverse (Suck/repulsive) Effect:
this will change the effect of the lift, the player cage strict lift effect is to suck the player or the object into the lift and trap it so it cannot move, but if we check this bitmask, the effect will be reversed to the player or the object that gets near to the lift will be pushed away from it.

Reverse (Push; Up/down) Effect:
This bitmask invert/reverse the lift direction, the lift can have a push up and down effect we can set the strenght of this push down effect on the pulsing force/rythm.

The others found values defines if the lift will only effec and/or/only t players and/or/only bloc(obstacles) and/or/only vehicles

The attraction factor in this case define the force of the "suck into lift" effect, if we set this to a lower value like 0.5 you won't get stuck into the lift it will only slow down when you pass through it.

The gravity value, is probably not really a good name but it seems to work like this, set that to 100 and the objects player etc will float when then pass into the lift.

Dont forget to play with values that are set to unknown i didn't finished my research if you find something else post here and i'll update the plugin and the tutorial if you don't know how to edit plugins, you'll be credited of course.
