I didn't have problems with the meta editor, other then the normal lag, when scrolling which I only get that in vista, but the tag tree view took like 30secs or so to load everything.
I fixed the tag tree, it loads instantly.

Have you got the right map open? >_>

Important Update 1.1 -
Fixes issues with dependencies and stringids.
No more picking up weapons issues.

Important Note:

If when you do poke all the map freezes, its most likely a plugin issue. Some "Predicted Resources" reflexives have the wrong values types, this is what causes the freezing so I'll be going through all the plugins to fix this issue. I'll post the updated tags when I'm done.

I'll also be putting up a 64Bit build, let me know if it solves the related issues.

I had heard the reason it freezes when you poke all is because sometimes the values are stored different or calculated in memory than in the map files. At least that's what I think was explained to me.

Whoever told you that was talking bullshit.

Is this with a 64Bit OS? If so did you download the 64Bit Build?

64 bit gives same error, And yes it the same map.
If i make changes in contribute and save all then poke with my other RTH that works changes are made. But after switching xbdm and loading same map then successfully connecting making changes and saving i try to poke, and again get the same error that its not the right map. i tried this on onyx map, lockout, and foundation.
I tried this on a 32 and a 64 bit system same error.

-DetoX- wrote:Regardless of your problem, you do know some tags will freeze even when poking clean tags? The values loaded into memory for some tags aren't the same in memory, and if changed will freeze your xbox.

That's why its better to have a program with a meta editor and have an option to poke values only changed in the meta editor since the tag was loaded.

I challenge you to poke every tag (or even just 1 tag of each class) in a map using contribute.

I'll pass on that... I was just passing on information in case that's really true. I took his word for it, because it's not that hard to determine the changes each time.

If you can succesfully poke every value in a tag, then it wont freeze. You have to read it from memory first, if you poke the values in the map then yes it will freeze.

Huh? You seem to be contradicting yourself there...

It seems this was only a problem for the weap tag...unless I somehow missed other occurrences...anyway the updated plugin is in the updated meta editor which can be found in the repository

I Like It.
You should make it View, Inject, and Extract Models and Bitm.
Then it would be amazing ^.^

Debug capabilities are buggy. All of the poke buttons don't' do anything and the Poke All button doesn't work either. :?

If your using a 64Bit OS you may be getting a wrong map loaded error, if not its your fault not the program. Unless your talking about the v2 beta, in which case I'll need to look at it.

I'm on 32bit. I make a change and click the poke button on the reflexive and nothing happens. Then I click Poke All and nothing happens. No errors. :?

I dislike that idea, being able to poke without saving is a good diagnostic tool.

Ok? You tell people that you need to save before poking, yet poking without saving is a good idea. So implement it don't tell me.
