my older bro has 6 gigs of ram on his Windows XP x64 System.

Its cheaper and more efficient if you order your parts for the computer separately.
I suggest ordering from Newegg, they have anything you could want. xxPenguinxx, my older brother, dragonfire, and many other people use newegg. its a good site. I'm never buying a computer from a store again!

1. You can get the DDR2 1066 for a little more and will boost performance...
2. Grab a 640GB hdd for about $10-15 more...
3. I have the same mobo, its awesome!
4. 9400GT!? WTF!? Your kidding me. right? Id at least grab a Radeon 3870 to go with that AMD chipset
5. Why not a DVD Burner for $7 more?

That DVD Burner is good choice, but remember XZodia, that mobo has an AMD chipset which means ATI cards will work better with that. Also do some research on video cards before going baised on it. That 3870 i recommend will be much better than that 9400GT, i think the 790GX chipset mobos even have better IGP graphics than that 9400xzodia wrote:oops, thought that was a dvd writer...how about this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6827106057

$105 3870 Card with a $15 MIR, making it about a $90 card

anything else Yama?

Re: Need a new Computer.
How much of a difference in these cards? I get a 50$ combo discount for getting the Mobo and Graphics card Xzodia picked together. Makes it only 75$. Then also a 10$ mail in bringing it down to 65. Opposed to 90$ for the other card.Dragonfire wrote:That DVD Burner is good choice, but remember XZodia, that mobo has an AMD chipset which means ATI cards will work better with that. Did you seriously just suggest that an integrated graphics is better than a 9 series geforce?Dragonfire wrote:That DVD Burner is good choice, but remember XZodia, that mobo has an AMD chipset which means ATI cards will work better with that. Yama, what kind of stuff u run that requires graphics? so maybe I can look around more...
EDIT: I started from scratch and came up with this....
Case -> COOLER MASTER Centurion 5
Mobo -> Foxconn A7GM-S AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
GFX -> SAPPHIRE 100225L Radeon HD 3870 512MB 256-bit GDDR4 PCI Express 2.0 x16
PSU -> PC Power & Cooling S61EPS 610W Continuous
CPU -> AMD Phenom 9600 Agena 2.3GHz Socket AM2+ 95W Quad-Core Processor
RAM -> G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)
HDD -> Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive <-has 32MB cache
Mouse -> Logitech MX518 2-Tone 8 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB + PS/2 Wired Optical Gaming-Grade Mouse <- I have it, love it!
DVD Burner -> LG 20X DVD±R DVD Burner w/ SecurDisc Tech Black SATA
Price = $674.92
MIR = $35
Total = $629.92 (after MIR)
*If you want to go cheaper, you can cut the mouse out, downgrade the hdd, and/or get 2x1 ram instead of 2x2, but stay with DDR2 1066

Re: Need a new Computer.
I plan on doing a Lot of XNA. A somewhat basic card will do however I want something decent. If I for who knows what reason want to launch COD4, I would like to know it can handle it. One game I will without a doubt be playing is Starcraft 2.

Whatever you do, make sure you don't get anything less than a 256mb card.Yamagushi wrote:I plan on doing a Lot of XNA. A somewhat basic card will do however I want something decent. That 3870 will play CoD4 on medium settings easily
XZodia, 9 seris doesnt mean anything in terms of gfx, but u recommended a 9400, which is like bottom line graphics! If you would have said 9800GTX, then i would have said dif
EDIT: That burner was OOS, get this one instead, its also a 22x instead of 20x
